I'm spending the long weekend going through my stuff, organizing it, and getting rid of stuff that is useless.

This was prompted by my being unable to find a GPIO card that I need for the Vermont project. I had originally intended it for a machine I sent to Main last fall, but it didn't fit, so I put it Somewhere Safe thinking I wouldn't need it for a while... and now, of course, I need it and can't find the thing.

I'm about two thirds through the various places where it might be, and am wondering if it is under a pile of paper somewhere.

In the middle of this, the snake got smelly, so I had to put him in a bathtub full of warm water while I took everything out of his tank and tried to clean it as best as I can (without, of course, using any sort of chemical that might irritate him). He unballed and started swimming around in the tub, and I was a bit worried he might get out and start exploring. Fortunately there was no doggy around for him to encounter.

I also did two loads of laundry today. Now, having reset the log at the New Hampshire FM and soldered a couple of connectors onto a Western Electric 111C repeat coil for WHRB, I can go to bed.

The featured speaker at Thursday's commencement is Oprah Winfrey, who will presumably get an honorary degree. Oprah must be hum-free, unlike last year's speaker (whom I have already forgotten; was it Bill Gates? or was he the previous year's?).

During the course of a housecleaning this weekend I found a bunch of foreign coins. Some of them have strange inscriptions around their edges:

"PLEIDIOL WYF I'M GWLAD" on a British one-pound coin;

"DEGUS ET TUTAMEN" on another British one-pound coin;

"GOD ZIJ MET ONS" on a Dutch coin denominated "2 1/2 G".

Of course, here in the United States we have "ANNUIT COEPTIS" and "NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM" on our dollar bills, accompanied by a bizarre Masonic symbol reminiscent of the Eye of Sauron.

I know where the British coins came from. but have no idea how I came by the Dutch one; I've never been to the Netherlands.
