The governor has banned vehicular travel in all of MA, effective 4 PM this afternoon, except for certain essential workers.
As far as I know that has happened only once before in my lifetime, during the blizzard of 1978. And I don't remember them shutting the T down in 1978, which they did at 3:30 this afternoon. No one's going anywhere except on foot.
