I'm on Block Island waiting for the 5:30 boat.
I should have been on the two o'clock boat, but this thrice confounded machine won't recognize the sound card I brought with me. I struggled with it for two hours, but its ancient operating system just doesn't like the card. Moreover, with the new card installed, it can't see its original card. And it took me an hour to get the original card working again after I gave up on installing the new one.
If I had brought a Debian CD with me I'd have been tempted to blow out the old OS. As it is, I'm going to have to come back with a different machine.
Grrr. Arrrrgh.
By the way, there is NO snow on the ground here. Blizzard? What blizzard?
