I'm an evolutionary biologist. You can possibly imagine how painful it is for me with BSG and all the shows that cheerfully allow interbreeding between species from completely different planets. I don't know if your ideas about what would happen to us if the BSG scenario were true are right, but yeah, it's completely and utterly out of sync with actual scientific knowledge about life on this planet.
