So far, I'm unimpressed. Both SSD's in my laptop are now unreliable after three years of use. I've ordered a new SSD, and in the meantime am trying to see if I can use a Flash drive as a stopgap.

But so far, it's looking like old fashioned mechanical disk drives are better. They are cheaper, more reliable, and last longer. I wouldn't buy another SSD right now if my laptop could take a conventional drive.

First of all, why are both political parties worrying about deficit reduction in the middle of what has to be called the Bush/Obama depression?

Secondly, there's a clear path back to sanity: end the wars and repeal the Bush tax cuts. Why weren't those steps taken on day one of the Obama era? Those wars may have cost as much as five trillion dollars, and have bought us nothing at all.

Looking at the stubborn insistence of both parties, but especially the Republicans, in focusing on spending cuts when people are crying out for jobs. I can't help but wonder if the feelings of voters matter any more. If elected representatives people care more about campaign contributors than voters, the American republic is moribund.

What great power in the history of the world has ever gone to war while cutting taxes? I say it again: stop the wars, end the tax cuts, and the deficit problem is at least two thirds tackled. This is clearly a better option than any of what I'm hearing is being talked about in Washington. Why isn't it being done?
