Out, damned hum!

I spent most of today trying to get one of the computers in the NH FM production studio to stop humming. The wires feeding it audio from the console were acting as an antenna, picking up some of the 5,000 watts from the AM transmitter two rooms away, and shoving it up the mic/line input jack on the recently installed computer, hence the hum, mixed with a liberal dose of Dr. Joy Browne and, later in the day, Dennis Miller. I got rid of it all, and by 4 PM there wasn't a trace of right-wing drivel or hum in the room.

Tomorrow I'm supposed to go to Block Island, but I'm likely going to wait until Saturday for that because it's going to snow again. Feh.
