There's nothing like working on high voltage circuitry when one is drenched in sweat.

I arrived at the NH station late, having discovered en route that I had forgotten my phone and had to go back for it. It was already over 90F when I got there. I opened up all the doghouses; there were no hornets, and a small Thamnophis darted out of the doghouse at Tower #3. In front of the door to the Tower #4 doghouse were some yummy blackberries growing on something thorny.

There were lots of little orange butterflies about; I've seen them before but couldn't identify them. Some bird I couldn't see started screaming while I was checking out the Tower #1 doghouse; it might have been a pheasant.

The problem turned out to be in the Tower #4 doghouse, where a connection to a coil had somehow worked loose, and it took me three hours to find. Ugh. Moreover, it wasn't entirely clear where on the coil I should reattach the thing, but I seem to have guessed correctly, as the transmitter came back on at full power with no hint of any of it being reflected back from the towers.

The temperature got as high as 102F on my way home. If I had had swimming trunks with me, I'd have been tempted to find a beach. The bay looked very inviting.
