Easter bug!
Apr. 20th, 2010 08:39 amOne of my favorite Easter hymns runs, in part:
"Had Christ that once was slain
Ne'er burst his three-day prison,
Our faith had been in vain;
But now hath Christ arisen..."
The problem is that this hymn contains a fencepost (or "obi-wan", for "off by one") error; someone who dies on Friday and is resurrected on Sunday has only been dead two days not three. Judging by the hymns we've sung in the past three weeks, it seems to be a common bug in Easter hymns.
No doubt their authors would have celebrated the end of the millennium in 1999.
