A snowy journey
Feb. 16th, 2010 08:58 pmI had to visit my client in Dover, NH today, but the weather forecast was not auspicious for driving, so I took the train. I am now on the southbound train headed back to Boston. There is something truly magical about seeing a train's headlights pierce the snowy gloom of a New England winter evening.
I cannot make this a long post, as my batteries are drained from a long day's work. But this was my first taste of the Downeaster, Amtrak's four times daily Boston to Portland service, and it is truly a delight to sit back in comfort and watch the countryside slide by. It definitely beats driving, especially in the snow.
I need to do this more often.
