I'm listening to a ham in Mexico conversing with someone in Michigan at the bottom of the 40-meter shortwave band. The noise level is much lower than the other day and there are a lot more signals. There was a huge pileup about half an hour ago of people all over Europe and North America trying to talk to someone whose call sign I couldn't read.

My Morse skills are very rusty. It's been many years since I last had need of them.
