Has your friend tried Fenway Community Health? I had a great psychiatrist there, though I haven't dealt with him in several years (I don't know if he's taking new patients). He was a psychopharmacologist with a great understanding of complicated medical conditions. A friend of mine spoke well of a therapist she saw there, not a psychiatrist.
