It occurred to me on my way to WZBC this evening that thinking about all the wrong decisions I've made in my life is a waste of time and energy. There is no useful lesson that can be learned from analyzing them, because I'll never be in a position to make any of those choices again. Time does not run backward but forward, and it is the present that needs attention not the past.
